This headset fits 2018 and older Cervelo P-series frames with a straight 1-1/8-inch steerer tube top and bottom. Both bearings use CeramicSpeed's ceramic balls with hardened steel races, which roll smoother than standard steel-on-steel bearing systems. The reduced friction translates to more responsive steering, especially when you're holding an aero position for extended periods and making small steering corrections.

CeramicSpeed builds these bearings by hand in Denmark, which allows for tighter tolerances than mass-produced bearings. The ceramic balls resist corrosion and don't pit the way steel balls can when moisture gets into the bearing, so the headset maintains its low-friction performance over time. The kit ships with CeramicSpeed's Long Life Grease already applied, which uses a different formula than standard bike grease to work specifically with ceramic ball bearings.

The package includes everything you need for installation: both headset bearings, a 4.5mm compression ring, a 4mm top cap designed for Cervelo's specific interface, and a 5mm carbon fiber headset spacer with CeramicSpeed branding. The compression ring goes between the top bearing and the stem to eliminate any play in the system once you've torqued everything down. The headset is available in two versions—Standard with ceramic balls in standard races, and Coated with an additional surface treatment on the races that further reduces friction and extends bearing life.
