The more versatile of the Limus TLRclan, the Challenge Baby Limus Pro Series TLR Cyclocross Tire can handle the mud, but also excels on grass and for many riders, has replaced the Grifo as an all-conditions choice. Choice is good and we all have our preferences. With aggressive and more tightly spaced knobs than it's Limus parent tread, you can cut through just about anything that requires real traction and grip so you can flow through corners, zip thru off-camber sections, and powering up inclines with ease. Challenge H-TLR tires meet the new ETRTO and ISO standard and are hookless compatible, and can be used with a tube or as tubeless with hooked bead rims as well. It is designed to be complaint with UCI rules (33mm WAM) with most rim designs featuring an internal rim width up to 23mm. Handmade TLR tires from Challenge are best combined with the Challenge’s Smart Tubeless Sealant, which protects the natural properties of its components for a longer lasting performing tire, while further enhancing puncture protection and air tightness.

Challenge builds the Baby Limus Pro Series TLR tire with it's 300 tpi SuperPoly casing, a lightweight fine weave of soft polyester fibers that is both supple and resilient- perfect for cross racing. You get added protection from the PPS puncture strip, which is constructed like a fabric, with properties that match the casing for excellent ride consistency. Muddy, mixed and soft courses are require a versatile tread that doens't compromise in the process. Riders who love sure feel and fast acceleration with great control will love the Baby Limus and it can still carry some speed when a pavement transition or finish loom.

Challenge calls for a pressure range from 26-35 psi. Rider weight and actual use will determine what works best for you, but with the Limus TLR recommend starting at 33psi. We find that going softer is best on when you need more overall footprint and grip in the unseen. The tire is much faster when firm enough to really maximize the ability of the tread to rip through mud. Going softer may also improve cornering, but won't really assist you much in soft sand or mud when floatation is tertiary concern. Classic cyclocross riders carried and ran more, knowing that this approach was faster than riding. Of course these riders also excelled at mounting and dismounting, skills that not everyone can master. The Baby Limus is a tire option that lets you ride more if you have the power and grit. It makes a great all-around set-up front with a Grifo rear, or can even be run with a Chicane rear in a grass heavy course. You have to experiment with the minimal range afforded tubeless pressures in various conditions with 1-2 psi increments when your actual range is just about 10psi overall.
