The Portland company's commitment to precision and exceptionally high standards mandated frame quality control that frankly was tough to meet. As frame builders have improved their own standards and processes, and the drop-in bearing set-up has proven safe, durable, and common, King responded with their DropSet Headset. The DropSet 3 features King's incredibly efficient and precise upper and lower bearings. The upper is a 41mm OD, 45°x45° sealed stainless steel bearing. The lower is a 52mm OD, 36°x45° sealed stainless steel bearing that is compatible with the included King baseplate and 36° integrated (part of fork crown/steerer) crown races.
