For urban, touring, and hard surface bikepacking, the folding version of the Continental Contact Travel Road Tire is a great option. The 700x37 size allows for speed, floatation, grip, and comfort with the suppleness of 3 ply 180 tpi casing. The tread is versatile, but with a flatter wider central zone, optimized for fast rolling on pavement or hardpack surfaces. Yet with an updated shoulder edge knob system, it adds grip and control while cornering, even on pavement. It also adds traction and propulsion in areas where loose, soft material sits over hard base surfaces.

Developed for very real puncture protection, as well as sidewall abrasion, the Contact Travel still maintains it's overall flexibility. The famed Continental DuraSkin is used from bead to bead for overall protection, while the SafetySystem Breaker is a center zone belt made of Kevalr and high strength nylon that adds major puncture resistance. Even better the flexible belt also mitigates minor tire impacts and overall road "noise", for a designed level of comfort ideal for long hard efforts with extra bike weight, or the rigors of urban pavement.
