Description

ENVE's internal brass nipples work with the patented Molded Spoke Hole technology found in their carbon rims, and using the correct nipple matters for both wheel performance and warranty coverage. The ENVE Brass Nipples seat into a conical pocket molded into the inner rim wall, allowing each nipple to articulate like a ball-and-socket joint as spoke tension pulls the nipple toward the hub flange. This articulation reduces bending stress on the spoke threads that would otherwise cause premature fatigue and breakage.

Brass construction provides corrosion resistance that aluminum nipples can't match, especially in wet conditions or coastal environments where salt exposure accelerates oxidation. The material also offers lower thread friction during tensioning, making spoke adjustments smoother and more predictable. Each nipple measures 10mm in height to minimize weight while maintaining adequate thread engagement, and the 3.2mm square drive interface requires ENVE's dedicated spoke wrench for installation and truing adjustments.

A self-locking thread modification adds mechanical resistance to vibration-induced loosening, helping spokes stay tensioned and wheels stay true between service intervals. If you're building or rebuilding an ENVE wheel, these are the only nipples that maintain your warranty coverage. Using third-party nipples or adding washers will void the warranty and can damage the molded spoke holes. The nipples work with 14-gauge spokes across ENVE's SES road, G Series gravel, and compatible wheelsets that use the internal nipple system.
