At just 90 grams (7g more than the non-Elevate version), the fenix® 3 HR is designed to be your lifestyle tracker, fitness tracker and training tool, GPS, compass, etc. Connectivity abounds with WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and ANT+. Garmin's Connect IQ™ platform makes set-up and data transfer simple. The 1.2-inch sunlight-readable Garmin Chroma Display™ with high-strength domed Sapphire lens, is eye-friendly with 218 x 218 pixels, even when using the compass and navigation program. With just this basic rundown, you can tell the fenix® 3 HR is loaded, and yet we haven't really discussed what it is capable of. We will try to give you the quick rundown, but Garmin's site will have complete details if you we don't cover a question you may have. Alternatively, there are few general items we should share about compatibility as well. Please keep in mind that Garmin offers the fenix® 3 HR with the treated silicone band- which exceptionally durable because it is impervious to sweat, highly resistant to UV rays and flexible. Any of Garmin's upgrade bands will work with the optical reader, but the upgrade straps will not. Nor will the fenix® 3 Quick Release Kit- which has a flush mount not compatible with the optical reader. While many of the advanced Run functions work just fine, others may require an actual heart rate strap. Swimmers will also need to have a chest strap as well. It is easy to enable/disable the Elevate™ HR optical reader- you simply turn it on or off like you would any sensor.
