Garmin Varia smart bike lights help to create a safer riding environment by adjusting to changing light conditions as well as bike speed when paired with select Garmin Edge computers. As speed increases, the headlight automatically projects light further ahead to where it's needed most. As ambient light fades or gets brighter, both the headlight and tail light adjust automatically when paired with a light-sensing Edge 1000 bike computer.

Whether you are training, commuting or just out for a pleasant evening ride with friends and family, Varia bike lights can adjust for speed and light conditions to put the light where you need it the most. The sleek headlamp can produce up to 600 Lumens that can easily light up a completely dark street. The headlamp attaches to the bike with an included quarter-turn mount that so many other Garmin devices use. When you integrate with a compatible Edge 520, Edge 1000 or Edge Explore 1000, GPS sensors in those units communicate wirelessly via ANT+ to the headlamp instructing the lamp to project the light beam further ahead when your speed increases. Manual on/off controls allow you to use the lights for daylight rides as well.

This bundle includes a wireless Varia remote. As you would expect, the remote can manually turn the lights on and off so you can run your lights in the daytime like many of the most safety conscious are doing these days. The remote does have a real game changing feature that every tech savvy nighttime road rider/commuter simply must have. With two tail lights, you can actually indicate right and left turns. Motorists can visibly see your turn intention with a blinking light that everybody understands. This lets you keep your hands on the bars and scrap the confusing hand signals many drivers don't understand and can't really see when it's dark.
