For cyclists who are already familiar with Garmin cycling products, the Vivoactive 3 is a smart fitness watch that take full advantage of the Connect IQ App, features the ever-expanding Garmin Pay function as well as the Elevate wrist-based heart rate system. It can integrate for many activities, including cycling, running, swimming and much more, has all the health-oriented Activity Tracking tools, and at just 43.7mm diameter for the bezel is compact and comfortable enough to be worn 24/7. Of course it carries GPS and GLONASS global positioning support, a barometric altimeter, compass, thermometer, and accelerometer you have come to expect from a Garmin device, delivers Smart Notifications from your phone and is set-up for Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ communication.
The Vivoactive 3 sits between other Vivo models and the Fenix series watches, with a focus on health tracking and lifestyle use for active people. Priced at $269.99, with a sunlight visible, color touchscreen display, at just 43 grams, the Vivoactive 3 will hit the sweetspot for many users. It can even control your smartphone based music with this model. Garmin does over a Vivoactive3 with onboard music, but not at this price point. If you are looking for advanced cycling, running, and swim metrics we recommend a model from the Fenix 5+ series. Battery life for the rechargeable Li-ion system is up to 7 days in Smartwatch Mode, and up to 13 hours in GPS mode. Charging is handled by a USB cable. Garmin uses a chemically strengthened glass for durability and reasonable cost, along with a stainless steel bezel and fiber-reinforced polymer body with stainless steel rear cover. The lightweight, flexible, silicone Quick Release band is an industry standard 20mm wide.
