HED's Plus width Ardennes rim is the driver of several in-demand wheelsets. This Ardennes Plus Wheelset is similar to the Plus LT version, but with a 24h front wheel. The award winning, and hugely popular 25mm rim was the straw that broke the narrow width rim design's back. The benefits in stability, comfort, strength, reduced weight and better rim to tire aerodynamics for road bikes are hard to beat. The internal rim width is 21mm, and the height profile is 24.5mm. This is a well balanced and refined rim structure that is also tubeless ready with sealing tape and a tubeless valve. Set-up here with the HED 545 hubset, and 24 spokes laced 2x/2x front and rear, you get a more resilient, forgiving front wheel than on the 18h Plus LT.

The rim brake design of this special Ardennes Plus features a CNC machined alloy brake track that is perfect for standard compound brake pads. As most brakes have been redesigned to best interact with wider rims, you can easily get superior braking for wet or dry conditions. The sculpted aluminum 545 hubset is flanged for j-bend spokes. Oversized 15mm alloy axles and sealed cartridge bearings run long and smooth, with increased torsional stiffness under side loads. The rear freehub engages quickly and surely with a 5-pawl system. The bodies are replaceable, and available Campagnolo 11 and SRAM XD in addition to the stock Shimano/SRAM 11 model.
