Description
Replacing a worn 11-speed chain doesn't require spending flagship-groupset money. The X11.93 from KMC delivers the same Double X-Bridge shifting technology found across the X-Series lineup at the entry point of the range, using solid pins and plates rather than the hollow construction found in lightweight models. The tradeoff is a few extra grams in exchange for a lower price point and proven durability under hard use.
KMC designed the X11.93 with optimized chamfer angles specifically to handle the demands of modern drivetrains. The chamfering on both inner and outer plates creates precise ramps that engage chainring and cassette teeth quickly, which matters whether you're running a road double or a 1x setup with a wide-range cassette. That wide-range compatibility was a specific design target, since the extreme chain angles created by 11-46T and similar cassettes put additional stress on the chain's ability to transition smoothly between gears.
Nickel plating on the outer links provides corrosion resistance without adding significant cost, while the chromoly steel construction and mushroom-riveted pins handle the structural integrity side. KMC applies a stretch-proof treatment during manufacturing that helps maintain consistent shifting performance as the chain accumulates miles. The non-directional design means you can't install it wrong, and the included MissingLink connector allows tool-free installation and removal for periodic cleaning.... Read More
