The 1545 gram Cosmic Carbone 40 Elite C Wheelset combines value and high tech with the 3K carbon clincher rim, featuring Mavic's TgMAX rim and brake track construction, which has an aluminum cooling system integrated in the design. The outer shoulders use a softer application of the same rubber, which ensures terrific grip when leaning over. The tread design is directional, with angled channels that help with grip and sipe water away from the center section. The front Griplink is softer, for more overall grip when cornering, with a smoother rider quality. Both share the same 127tpi nylon casing which augments the rubber and has a true rounded shape. In between the rubber and the casing a polymide breaker (wider for the Powerlink, narrower for the Griplink) is supple enough to match the casing and offers puncture protection.

Braking with the TgMAX rim treatment requires the correct pads, and Mavic supplies them with the wheelset. These are standard 130/100 hub width wheels, so you get the BR301 quick release set, as well as a multi-function hub wrench and the usual user guide.
