The Crossmax Enduro WTS Wheelset was developed in conjunction with some of the top riders in the Enduro class to create a race level wheel that was light enough to spin up quickly, and strong and stable enough to dominate the long downhill sections. No small challenge, but Mavic was able to draw on years of wheel development in both XC and DH categories, as well as riders with the last names of Clementz and Chausson for expert feedback. At just 1710 grams for the 27.5 wheelset, you have to agree Mavic met the weight goal. To provide the strength, handling, and responsiveness, more creativity was required.

The front wheel is essential to the overall goals of the Enduro rider. Grip, comfort, and aggression all begged for a wider rim. At 21mm internal width, the extruded UST Maxtal alloy rim carries a legit 2.4" tire with ease, allowing the casing to open up and provide an amazing contact patch that builds rider confidence. The rim is super strong in and of itself, so the rider knows when the wheel is pointed in a direction, it can hold and stick the line. The 24 Zicral aluminum spokes are light and incredibly stiff in the bladed configuration. The straight-pull alignment and high tension deliver an incredibly stiff wheel, that somehow still manages to give just enough to prevent damage from hard impacts. The FORE drilling means the the outer rim section is reinforced then threaded to hold a special nipple. The interior rim section is not drilled or open, except at the valve hole.
