Mavic designed the Crossroc XL with much of the standard Crossroc technology and practicality, but tailored the design to Enduor/ Adventure use. The Crossroc XL WTS wheelset from Mavic is ready to tackle your favorite epic trail adventure with a 21mm internal rim width that is best suited to 2.4" wide tire. A perfect replacement or upgrade for original equipment wheels, the Crossroc XL is a favorite of many budget conscious Mavic fans because of the straight-pull steel spokes and traditional nipple style, which makes the wheels easier to true. This 6-bolt disc wheelset uses a stout mid-section rim for solid durability,and is designed for the excellent UST tubeless system. With this WTS XL version, Mavic also supplies the UST Crossroc Quest tires as well, already set-up with Tubeless valves so you will just need to install your rotor and cassette to hit the trail.

The wheels are set-up for 12/142mm rear and 15/100mm front thru-axle designs and end-caps be swapped out for 135mm QR usage. Both the 24h front and rear wheels are laced 2x with the double butted spokes, which allows the resilient wheel to be both laterally stiff and vertically compliant, as well as being easy to service. The rear hub features the TS-2 free hub system, which has proven to be exceptionally reliable. The TS-2 uses two simultaneously engaging pawls for a positive power transfer and consistency. The oversized alloy monobloc axle is light and helps give the hub strength and stiffness, even when the various end cap systems are used. Both front and rear hubs also travel smoothly on Mavic's excellent QRM sealed cartridge bearings. With the use of traditional spoke nipples Mavic also employs the H2 hardening process on the rim at the spoke hole stress points, meaning that when tensioned properly, the rim will remain stiff, resisting fatigue and pull-through.

The Crossroc Quest tires are front and rear compatible, UST ready, and feature a single rubber compound that balances the need for durability and grip, and relies on it's combination tread pattern for traction and cornering. The 66 tpi casing is supple enough to handle typical mid to low pressures as you enlarge the footprint for more effective tire contact area. The 2.4" Quest's have excellent flat protection and solid wear characteristics, but roll fast and sure in most conditions. Overall the Crossroc XL Disc WTS delivers tremendous Mavic quality and reliability in a wider, more stable and stiff version of the Crossroc that was designed for distance trail riding in all conditions and terrains..
