Description
Swapping drivetrain ecosystems usually means new wheels, but the Mavic ID360 Freehub Body in SRAM XDR configuration lets you run SRAM 11-speed or 12-speed road cassettes on your existing Mavic wheelset. If you've picked up a SRAM AXS groupset and don't want to part with your Cosmic or Ksyrium wheels, this is the conversion path. The freehub body slides onto any Mavic road or gravel hub equipped with the Instant Drive 360 system.
The ID360 platform uses a dual ratchet design rather than traditional pawls. Two opposing 40-tooth steel ratchets engage each other, delivering 9 degrees of engagement. That translates to near-instantaneous power transfer when you put force into the pedals, with none of the delay you get from pawl-based systems waiting for the next engagement point. The ratchet architecture also means fewer moving parts, quieter operation, and less that can go wrong during service or travel.
This freehub body ships with bearings installed. The ratchets, spring, and seal transfer from your existing ID360 hub, so you're not buying redundant internals. Installation is straightforward if you've worked on Mavic hubs before: the freehub body slides out as a unit once you remove the end cap. Radial seals at the contact points reduce friction while keeping moisture and road debris out of the mechanism.
