The Small Block 8 has long been a key XC and cross tread design when speed, acceleration, and surprising grip is required in hard-pack, rock surface tire. The DTC tread rubber offers better wear resistance in the center from a firmer compound and the edge and shoulder knobs are a softer compound, delivering more grip and control in corners and when running lower pressure.

The Small Bock 8 can be used front and/or rear option. The hardest, driest surfaces may favor a front and rear combination, while fast hardpack with some softer sections or larger rocks may favor it as a rear, paired with a tire like the Kenda Nevegal up front.
