Reserve Wheels

Besides carbon expertise, Reserve’s engineering team has decades of experience in composites engineering, aerodynamics, and high-performance bicycle design. The engineers know what strength and impact resistance means for gravel riding in all conditions, and also have spent countless hours seeing how CFD and wind tunnel testing translate into real world road riding. The company's designers approach every rim they make with a specific problem to solve, and they believe the solutions speak for themselve, in the wind tunnel, on the trail, and in the breakaway. All of Reserve's rims are designed for tubeless tires—that doesn’t mean you can’t stick a tube in there, just that you don’t need to.

Reserve is a company committed to creating the best carbon rims for mountain, gravel and road cycling. Started by engineers from Santa Cruz, then buttressed through a professional partnership with Cervelo, the team at Reserve has built a reputation for exceptional strength, resilience, and physical wheel characteristics, including tubeless bead excellence and impressive aerodynamics. From day one of rim sales Reserve has backed their carbon rims with a lifetime warranty, which is the ultimate indicator of belief in the product and their desire to back it up.

Road Wheels

Most of the current road wheel line-up from Reserve features rims that vary in both height and internal rim width, front to rear. The concept employs a shallower, wider front wheel for greater stability and control, along with a taller, narrower rear wheel for better aerodynamics, speed, and power transfer. The rims and wheeks are designed to provide a comfortable, safe ride all day long, even if you hit it a rough patch of road or encounter an occasional short gravel-strewn side road, alley or driveway. The rim profiles were conceived via CFD and wind tunnel development, in conjunction with expertise from Cervelo. Pro cycling specific requirements and proper aerodynamic considerations and applications were applied to maximize the conceptual purpose of theseroad wheelsets. Models include the climbing oriented 34|37, 40|44, and 52|63. Most models are available in three price points, each featuring various levels of DT Swiss hubsets.

Gravel Wheels

The folks at Reserve have engineered 22mm, 25mm, and 32mm profile gravel rims with the compliance you want over harsh surfaces, but the lateral stiffness to make every effort count. Their development team has decades of experience in engineering, aerodynamics and bicycle design. Together, they decided to set their sights on fabricating gravel rims that would fulfill the individual needs and withstand the rigors of the gravel discipline. A rim that would prove its mettle in any situation, a rim that would speak for itself. Hence the shallower designs for gravel. Offering more width and a shallower hook bed, Reserve has given the rims great strength and excellent tubeless tire seal and retention, even at low pressures.

Reserve uses externally reinforced spoke holes to strengthen the area where the rim sees the most force- around the spoke nipple. This provides for improved strength without adding unnecessary weight. The updated rim bed shape eases tubeless installation, utilizing offset spoke holes that allows the tire to easily push past the bead bump to seat tubeless tires. Asymmetrical rims front and rear make for a stiffer, stronger and more reliable wheels by improving the bracing angles and equalizing the spoke tensions between the drive and non-drive side spokes. Reserve's GR series wheels are offered in various DT hub configurations, as well as an Industry Nine Classic option.
