ParkTool keeps pump service simple, and parts available for their floor pumps. The 1096Z Pump Rebuild Kit from Park applies to the following Park Tool floor pumps: PFP-8, PFP-7, PFP-6, PFP-5 and PFP-3. Your service interval depends on how much use your pump gets. If you have difficulty getting the correct seal at the valve, you may need to replace the head. If your pump seems to be losing air in the barrel, or you can't deliver normal pressure, you likely need to replace the gasket. If you use your pump several times a week, it is good idea to have a rebuild kit handy, as when you need it, you need it. Any one can follow the instructions and utilize the kit to service your pump.

This rebuild kit contains a complete #1069 head unit, #1472 fitting and one #1087 plunger gasket. The high quality, larger head is easy to use, and has long, shaped alloy lever that delivers more control when used with one hand. The pump head swap is simple. Just thread the old one off the pump hose collar and install the new one. If you are replacing the head on your PFP-5 or PFP-7 due to extended use, rather than incidental damage, you should also replace the barb fitting that the hose presses into. The #1087 gasket is designed to replace the lower seal gasket on the plunger assembly. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws on the top collar. Pull the plunger assembly out. Remove the old gasket from it's groove, wipe off any grease or dirt. Apply a thin coat of silicone grease to the new gasket and install it in the groove. Then apply a little more grease to the outward face, replace the plunger, fasten the two screws at the top collar and you are done.
