Inexpensive bikes of several generations that use single piece cranksets can be tricky to remove, adjust or install without the proper tools. Park Tool's HCW-18 Bottom Bracket Wrench makes your life easier. The HCW-18 is a double-ended wrench for use on some one-piece type crank/bottom bracket systems. One end fits slotted adjusting cones with an outside diameter of 44mm or less. The opposite end fits three-notched fixed side cones with an outside diameter between 42mm and 46mm.

The thin tool is made from forged steel, which is plated for durability. This is not a tool for Hercules or the Incredible Hulk, but for a technician, who knows tool edges, placement and appropriate leverage are more crucial for success.
