This AmFIB Lite Bib Tight is a modified version of Pearl Izumi AmFIB Bib Tight with AmFIB® softshell material through ¾ of the front, from the waist to just below the knees, placing wind protection only where it is needed most. Thermal fleece fabric provides insulation through the rest of the tight, and the piece carries full PI Dry® water-shedding technology, making this tight suitable for days that are damp or even raining. In Pearl's parlance a non-"Cycling" bib tight version has NO chamois pad. That said, this is more because some riders prefer a specific fit and feel from their cycling shorts and don't want a pad in their winter bib tights. Still others love the warmth, freedom of movement, and protection for use as an XC ski option. Whatever your use case, this is a fantastic bib tight.

Employing two key technologies, one an evolved softshell fabric, and the second the water shedding PI Dry® fabric treatment, this is a bib tight shrugs off wet weather, road slush, and brutal, cold winds. While not quite a warm as the full protection version, this is still a warm, breathable bib tight. The lower's base fabric is Thermal Fleece, which is soft on the skin, has loft to retain heat and allows moisture to release outward. Ultrasoft AmFIB Softshell provides superior wind and water protection with more flexible fit and comfort with it's. This generation of AmFIB is lighter, more flexible, and generally matches the base fabric stretch much better, delivering high-level wind and water protection without sacrificing ergonomic performance and PI Dry® is used effectively as additional water shedding technology, especially effective on flex zones, like behind the knee.

The bib upper is made from Transfer fabric with raw edge construction for comfort, and clean, flat interface to the next layer. This fabric has great 4-way stretch and recovery, offering muscle and fit support, as well being highly breathable, to keep perspiration off your skin and moving it out to the next layer. The feel and clean edges prevent chafing, while the added height around the external obliques and lower back contributes to the mildly compressive support.

Fit favors any mode of cycling- commuting, training, etc., and other winter outdoor endurance activities like skiing and snowshoeing. Inseam length is an un-stretched 28.5" (in the Medium), and the leg openings features soft fabric ankles in stead of zippers for greater comfort. Bio-Viz reflective zones on the legs add substantial visibility when exposed to light.
