Most cyclists have a special bib, the one we save for the most demanding rides. The designers goal was to ensure the PRO Air Bib takes that honor. It employs a new, lightweight French-made PRO Transfer fabric with a stretch weave for superior compression, support and moisture transportation. The latter comes from the fact that Pearl's In-R-Cool system, featuring coldblack® technology. The fabric breathes easily, moving moisture and excess heat, while coldblack® reduces the surface temperature (yes, even with sun on black fabric) by reflecting rays away and delivering UPF50 protection.

Keeping the PRO Air Bib lightweight and free from irritation points, Pearl optimized the piece with welded and taped construction. This tedious and costly process eliminates irritation-causing seams, and added laser-cut edges to offer a clean, smooth finish, reducing bulk and resulting in the lightest bib short in the line. The upper utilizes the same fabric, with a modified blend with 5% less stretch as the straps and rear panel move much less than the short zone. The wide, flat straps and back panel feel soft and lie smoothly on the skin, allowing for maximum moisture transfer and comfort, while providing all the support you'll need on mile 96 and beyond.

For the chamois pad, the easiest decision the designers made was to use the the PRO Escape 1:1® Chamois. This is considered Pearl's top pad, with it's breathable and truly protective variable density 1:1 anatomically informed breathable padding, and an antimicrobial floating top sheet. The sheet allows the pad to maintain the proper physical relationship to the saddle but reduces friction as you move through the pedal stroke and react to road or terrain conditions. This is Pearl's premium endurance race chamois and reflects the company's long commitment to their own chamois development, making it the only, perfect, option for the Pro Air Bib Short.
