Description
Many fans of the steel Outback frameset have been asking for a Break-Away version, and as Ritchey updated the Outback for 2020, they also worked up the Break-Away Outback. Virtually identical to the 2nd generation Outback, the Break-Away version is sure to be hot with cyclists looking to take their adventures to a whole other terrain, perhaps on another continent.
The popularity of gravel and all-road cycling speaks for itself. Cyclists don't need to choose on or off road, or be concerned about gravel roads or rough country lanes. Those who know Tom Ritchey's story will be aware that he has long pushed the boundaries of surfaces and terrain. The advances in road disc brake systems makes it easier to build the best bike possible for the conditions of the open and rough road. Using the proven and desirable Ritchey Logic heat-treated, double-butted directional steel tubing, the pioneer has designed the capable, updated Outback Frameset into a Break-Away version. It has the same design. clearance, geometry and features as the standard version with it's thru-axle frame and carbon disc thru-axle WCS Adventure Fork resulting in the forgiving, superior ride quality all Ritchey's steel frames are known for.
Along with the well-proven and time tested Break-Away coupler system, Outback Break-Away sports several practical and adaptable features that offer riders the ability to chase epic ride experiences beyond the end of the road and the end of the day. Rack and fender mounts help to keep things dry and expand the load-carrying capacity for longer bikepacking adventures, while clearance for 700c x 48mm or 650b x 2.0" tires opens up a whole new world of possibilities. The frame accepts flat-mount disc calipers, and the new all-carbon fiber Ritchey Adventure Fork with multi-purpose mounts on the legs gives you more places to stow the supplies you gather at the last cafe or outpost. ...
