Pairing the Classic Kyote handlebar with a stem that complements its swept-back geometry was the brief behind the Classic Toyon. Ritchey built the Toyon exclusively in a 60mm length to position the Kyote's extended backsweep at a usable reach, and the silver finish keeps the cockpit visually coherent on builds where polished components matter. The stem works with any 31.8mm handlebar on a 1-1/8" threadless steerer, so it isn't locked to the Kyote — but the length and aesthetic were chosen with that pairing in mind.

The Toyon's design lineage traces back to Ritchey's award-winning C220 stem, which wraps a full 220 degrees of clamping surface around the handlebar. That extended wrap routes bolt force inward so the stem body embraces the bar rather than pinching it, which reduces the risk of crushing lightweight alloy or carbon bars and lets Ritchey trim material from the faceplate and body without giving up stiffness. The Toyon carries that interface forward and adds a squared-off 34x34.5mm profile that bumps torsional stiffness over the rounder C220 shape.

Construction is 3D net-forged 2014 aluminum, a higher-strength alloy than the more common 6061, with stainless steel hardware. The four-bolt faceplate distributes clamping pressure evenly across the bar, and the steerer clamp uses a two-bolt design with an oblique slot to reduce stress concentration on the fork's steerer tube.
