Many of Ritchey's 1⅛" carbon forks over the years have been built with an integrated carbon crown race for Ritchey's standard 45° headsets, which meant you could only use the fork with compatible headset with 45° bearings. That precluded the use of several other high quality headsets such as those made by Chris King, and while many simply prefer the Ritchey headsets available, others may have already had, or wanted, another option.

This Ritchey Fork Crown Adapter allows 36° headset bearings, such as those from Chris King, to fit the Ritchey WCS Carbon Adventure fork that feature a 45° crown race. The adapter will work structurally with all Ritchey 1⅛" carbon fiber forks, though with possible slight cosmetic inconsistencies that may vary with frame and headset design. Please note: the adapter will effectively increase overall fork length by 4.4mm.
