Description

The Rocky Mounts LiftOp ski-snowboard carriers have been designed base rack mount flexibility and ease of use. The steel braided, rubber coated cable-wrap style mounting system is compatible with virtually every load bar system, and the LiftOp comes with direct mount hardware for use with most t-track, slot style crossbars. Two sizes are available, and as expected from Rocky Mounts, the materials and construction are both attractive and resilient in the elements and conditions faced during road trips into the mountains. The design is simple to use, even while wearing gloves or mittens, and though the LiftOp sits high enough to accommodate bindings, it is shaped so that the profile minimizes drag from the on-rushing airflow.

Extruded aluminum bodies carry the compressive rubber inserts that securely hold your boards and skis without any risk of damage. The durable ABS plastic end caps protect the hinge and locking assemblies. On the external facing side, the one-touch button is large and easy to manipulate in the cold. A Rocky Mount specific lock core locks down your equipment as well as the carrier itself. Even when not in use, the locked carrier is secure from theft. You have ability to match cores and keys through Rocky Mounts, but please be aware that Rocky Mounts carriers and cores are proprietary, so you can't mix and match cores with lock systems from Thule or Yakima.

Notoriously, the LiftOp comes in two sizes- Biggie and Smalls. The Biggie claims to hold six sets of fat skis and up to four boards in its 30" of actual carrying space. The 22" internal length Smalls is rated for three sets of skis and 2 boards. Please keep in mind that different shapes and sizes can limit the actual capacity. You can measure your gear before deciding on the size, or sizes that make sense for your needs. Rocky Mounts provides two locks and keys, coded alike, and complete instructions for both cable and t-track installation. After your first install, it takes only minutes to get the carriers removed or installed, so you don't need to keep them mounted at all times. The aluminum and ABS plastic parts are non-corrosive and can handle both rock slat and chemical road treatments for ice and snow, but it is always a good idea to rinse off and wipe down your LiftOps after a messy driving conditions. Rocky Mounts makes exceptional sport carriers for bike and snow, and the LiftOps fits sets a new standard for easy mounting flexibility and use in the freezing cold. Time to hit the slopes!
