Handlebars have grown wider in recent years, and this has presented some interesting challenges. Because bars are wider, leverage stress exerted at the stem has risen dramatically. The Traverse SL features a 35mm diameter at the stem clamp; this increases strength in this crucial zone, while also dissipating the bar clamp load across a larger surface area. More secure clamping, and a stronger handlebar - these are good things. Roval's extensive experience with carbon fiber allows the company to ensure maximum strength at the clamp and tailor the carbon fiber layup to provide vibration damping at the bar-ends, resulting in a more comfortable, less fatiguing ride.

The Traverse SL 35 is strong enough to attack the gnarliest terrain, durable and comfortable enough to hammer the chunder day in, day out, and light enough to make XC racers smile. Available in both 780 and 800 mm widths, this 35.0mm clamp diameter this hits all the sweet spots at a 30mm rise. It features a 6° upsweep, along with an 8° backsweep, which favors the short stem set-ups and slack headtube angles you find on DH rigs.
