Description
When Specialized introduced the Power saddle, designers and engineers started thinking in a new direction. Riders who prefer to produce power while seated find more support in the rear of the saddle and optimized pressure distribution. Riding for periods of time at high output while seated, rotates your pelvis and uses more soft tissue while changing the contact points of your sit bone structure, essentially making them wider. The San Marco Shortfit profile has the surface area shifted to the rear of the saddle to properly support this aggressive and wider position.
Loosely based on the Aspide wave contour, the shape is a natural anatomic fit to provide the base for lumbar and lower back support with a good balance of support and relief. Viewing the saddle from the side, you will see the recession in the center which crates the contour for an exacting yet dynamic fit. The has a full length cut-out to improve blood flow to prevent numbness and provide welcome pressure relief on the perineum.
The carbon fiber reinforced shell has the right balance of flexibility and support to provide a solid cycling platform. The shell is mounted to San Marco's Xsilite rails. These hollow steel rails that are constructed with a high percentage of silicon and combined with titanium and carbon particles. The are durable and offer just the right amount of flex for a form of passive suspension on the bike. The Microfeel cover is similar to leather, except far easier to care for and maintain. The Aspide Supercomfort weights in at 206 for Xsilite rails and 258 grams for Manganese rails.
