Description

Every once in a we receive a saddle that turns heads- for better or worse. Current thought about TT/Tri saddles seems to change every few months, so staying up on the latest and greatest is tough. Selle Italia has thrown down the gauntlet, seeking to end that process. The Kronos Tekno Saddle has a modern look and measurements in the snub nose design, comes in two widths, is stiff and light, yet comfortable, keeps the pressure off your most sensitive region, and is an ideal platform for creating power from the aggressive hip and back angles employed on an aero bike. The saddle features a carbon shell and rail design, like all Tekno's, as well as non-slip surfaces that allow the rider to hold position without worrying about sliding fore-aft while powering the pedals.
Power transfer starts with the platform. The Kronos Tekno features a 100% carbon shell, which has a split front design. The shell combines with the integrated 7mm x 9mm Carbo-Keramic solid rails. The end result is the stiff platform you require, but with the damping properties of carbon fiber that help defeat road vibration and impact. To the carbon shell, Selle Italia bonds zones of padding and their Fibra-tek synthetic microfiber cover. The side of the saddle slope down for a clear leg path to the pedals without friction. Directional anti-slip appliques hold you in position without damaging your skinsuit, yet do allow you to move when you need to. The split nose opens up into Flow pressure relief channel and offers some structural flexibilty for comfort, that won't impact power transfer. A flexible rubbery net fills the split. The opening and netting patterns draw to your undercarriage, which helps to keep you cool and force moisture away.
There are two width options for the Kronos Tekno Flow Saddle: Small 135mm and Large 145mm. Effectively the goal is provide proper sitbone placement and allow the legs to travel in the cleanest path possible to the pedals. Please keep in mind that as you rotate your hip forward and down, the legs tend to slot more directly than when slightly upright. Unless you regularly ride a road saddle that is less than 137mm wide, you will likely choose the Large. Please check the full dimensions below to ensure your overall fit suits your needs and whatever compliance rules you must follow.
