The SH-R260 is modeled after Shimano's former top-of-the-line and now extinct R320 road shoe. It's a time proven design that has your standard one buckle two strap closure mounted to a supple upper and a thin but stiff UD carbon sole. This modern-classic design doesn't disappoint and helps explain why this is a perennial favorite amonst riders seeking high performance and low weight in a road shoe.

The R260 uses Shimano's proprietary Rovenica synthetic for the upper. This supple material is soft and pliable, yet stretch-resistant and tough to offer durability and support. This upper features heat moldable Thermo-form plastic infused upper panels. These panels enable the shoe to conform perfectly to a wide variety of foot shapes and serve up a precise heel wrap and forefoot fit. The now-familiar Shimano Dynalast shaped last gives an exacting interior profile for a perfected fit. This last aligns the foot for an ideal ergonomic position for a more efficient up-stroke. Custom-Fit insoles with an adjustable arch wedge provide support while optimizing heel stabilization.

Shimano describes the sole as ultra-rigid, lightweight hollow channel, weaved carbon fiber. We'll expand on that. The sole is constructed of cross-woven UD carbon in a beautiful matte finish. Beyond good looks, this UD sole is stiff, light and super low profile, so it keeps your foot nice and close to the pedal. A hollow channel molded into the sole provides air flow and ventilation.

A custom fit vacuum forming process is used to custom fit the upper and insole conforming the R321 to the foot like a soft leather Italian Loafer. The heat moldable Thermo-form plastic infused upper panels enable the shoe to conform perfectly to a wide variety of foot shapes. These panels provide a precise heel wrap and forefoot fit. The custom fit moldable insole also shape themselves to your foot for evenly distributed pressure and increased comfort.
