Shimano injected their new 11-speed 6800 Ultegra group with a heavy dose of trickle-down technology from the fantastic 9000 group. Just like its more expensive brother, 6800 is engineered to virtually disappear under the rider with more intuitive controls. Part of this rider-tuned philosophy led to an 11-speed rear cassette with improved ratios so that you can always be in the perfect gear. Best of all is you get an extra gear for only a couple grams more.

Durability is the same as the excellent CS-6700 to perhaps better considering the matching CN-6800 chain can be expected to last 20% longer thanks to its PTFE coating. This coating along optimized chain width allows shifting on the CS-6800 cassette to be smoother and quieter than ever. The 6800 cassette can be used with the 9000 group as a slightly heavier but more affordable option.
