Carrying a mini multi-tool that isn't all that functional is sure to generate disappointment on the side of the road or trail. Specialized's EMT 6 Tool is compact, with stubby bits, but the quality is excellent, and the design effective. Some mini tools don't have enough heft or leverage, but the EMT 6 features stiff aluminum body plates and steel tool axles that ensure the minimalist body is stiff enough for those times when you need some power and torque.

The essential 6 tools are 3, 4, 5 and 6mm Hex bits, along with a Phillips head screwdriver and a T25 Torx driver. You get all the common bolt head sizes for components, the Phillips for derailleur adjustments and the T25 for many current bolt options and disc brake related fixes. The hex bit have mild chamfered edges for clean entry, but all of the forged steel bits are durable and nickel plated to resist corrosion and protect the steel.
