Description

Trail geometry has spent the last decade inching toward longer, slacker, and lower—each revision pushing the envelope of what a pedaling-focused platform can handle when the terrain turns aggressive. The Stumpjumper EVO LTD represents Specialized's answer to riders who found even the updated Stumpjumper 15 too restrained for their taste, stretching the reach numbers while slackening the head angle into territory that would have qualified as enduro geometry not long ago. The S2 frame size delivers 475mm of reach paired with a 63.5-degree head tube angle, numbers that prioritize descending confidence without abandoning the trail bike's fundamental requirement: you still have to pedal this thing back up.

The FACT 11m carbon frame construction keeps weight in check despite the more robust build philosophy the EVO line demands. Specialized developed this layup specifically for the Stumpjumper platform, balancing stiffness and compliance across the 150mm of rear travel. The asymmetric chainstays and SWAT-equipped downtube storage maintain the details that define the Stumpjumper lineage, while the geometry adjustments push the chassis toward more demanding terrain than the standard model addresses.

What separates the EVO LTD from its siblings lives in the component specification and the intent it signals. The Fox Factory 36 fork delivers 160mm of travel up front—10mm more than the rear—creating the kind of balanced feel that rewards aggressive line choices through chunked-out descents. The Float X Factory shock manages the rear suspension with the low-speed compression adjustability that lets riders tune pedaling efficiency without compromising small-bump sensitivity. Specialized chose components that reflect how EVO riders actually use these bikes: hard, fast, and without much concern for keeping things tidy.... Read More
