The Specialized Turbo Levo R Expert approaches the category from the opposite direction—a shorter-travel, 29"-wheel platform engineered to feel agile rather than capable of absorbing everything. The result is a full-power e-MTB that weighs roughly 2.6 kg less than a comparable Levo 4 build and rides with a sharpness that longer, heavier bikes trade away. The motor is the same Turbo 3.1 system found in the Levo 4. At 810 watts of peak power and 105 Nm of torque, the output is genuinely substantial, and the delivery is calibrated to read cadence, speed, and rider torque continuously rather than switching between discrete support modes. The 840 Wh battery is the full-size configuration, with an optional 280 Wh Range Extender that pushes total range toward 5 hours if the mission demands it. The FACT 11m carbon frame carries SWAT internal downtube storage, a fully adjustable geometry system covering head angle, bottom bracket height, and chainstay length, and a side-entry battery door that keeps the charging process straightforward. The Mastermind TCU display runs a 2.2" high-resolution screen with MicroTune power adjustment, over-the-air firmware updates, and Apple Find My integration built in.

Suspension is 140mm up front through a FOX 36 SL Performance Elite fork with the GRIP X damper—a cartridge tuned with high- and low-speed compression and low-speed rebound adjustment. The rear runs 130mm through Specialized's GENIE shock, a FOX Float Performance Elite variant that uses a variable-rate air system to deliver coil-like sensitivity in the initial stroke while building progression toward bottom-out resistance. The combination produces a suspension package that's active enough to handle rooted singletrack and composed enough to maintain line choice at speed. SRAM Motive Bronze 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping duty with 200mm rotors at both ends—hardware with genuine capability on steep, loaded descents.
