The Sportful Fiandre Pro Medium Jacket featuring forward-facing Polartec NeoShell has all the features of the Fiandre Pro, but it’s more practical for variable mid-temp, wet or dry conditions thanks to the lighter layering on the back. This doesn’t compromise the technical water repellent performance at all, as Sportful's NoRain fabric on the back has you covered no matter what. High breathability of both fabrics is a a major reason the piece is versatile wet or dry over nearly a 20 degree temperature range. You get the protection and moderate insulation value you need for high-output training when most cyclists would rather take a "rest" day.
Everything about the jacket dictates coverage, quality, and technical capability. This starts with the Fiandre protection concept from the neck collar, sleeves, long rear trail, all built around a race-like form fit that moves with the body, keeping close for efficiency and proper breathability. The impressive light fabric technology of NeoShell provides the strength and durability of a stretch weather protective fabric, while still allowing dynamic air exchange and comfortable full range of motion. The standard Fiandre Pro uses NeoShell for the entire jacket, but the Fiandre Pro Medium uses the lighter, NoRain protective, midweight brushed fleece, which also has great stretch and excellent breathability that is not inhibited by the nanotechnology water repellent application. Sportful applies fully taped seams for increased water infiltration protection.
The waist holds the jacket in place, while gasketed style long cuffs seal out the weather with most comparable weight glove designs, as well as the warmer neck cuff that is supple and soft on the neck. Sportful uses a water proof YKK Vislon zipper with a large pull for easy use with gloves. A deep three-pocket system at the rear secures your imperatives with proper stability. As one of the most versatile jackets available the Fiandre Pro Medium, can be worn with your lightest jersey on warmer days, or a midweight baselayer when the temps are closer to 40°F. You get the flexibility you crave in cycling gear, with impressive protection and the excellent construction and details Sportful is known for. As great as their products are, here at Excel we are doubly impressed with the Fiandre line-up, as well as the NoRain technology, and fully endorse it. Keep in mind that Sportul is a European brand, so the actual fit runs small, and most people end up sizing up at least one size depending on individual build and layering thought process.
