Vests aren't for every rider, and don't suit every climatological region. The Maestrale fabric is a woven material, which gives far greater coverage per square inch, but with less material than a knitted fabric, giving you outstanding wind protetcion. At just 40 grams per meter weight, this is a lightweight barrier. the water repellancy comes from the redoubtable DWR application (which can also be refreshed over time with aftermarket DWR specific products). While you do want some heat to be retained, you don't want moisture inside the jacket, so Maestrale was designed to breathe and release moisture. The hand and finish is soft, with flat lock stitching for comfort and consistent stretch. This is a terrific shell, with the weight and feel of a simple wind vest.

The fit is race cut, with anatomically informed panels from the riding position. The front hem is cut just like pro jersey, so as not to bunch up, and the rear hem is scultped to sit just below the jersey. The arm openings are elasticized for fit as well as preventing air infiltration into the body of the piece. The full length contrasting YKK Vislon zipper has a neckline garage to protect yourskin and facial hair from pinching. The central back panel is tapered to secure the fit, and a wide elastic band finishes the hem. A single, low, mid back pocket is effective for holding your valuables such as a phone or mp3 player, and snack. Reflective logos and materials front and back offer safety in low visibility conditions.
