Description
Transmission changes how the rear derailleur attaches to your frame. Instead of a replaceable hanger bolted to the dropout, the GX T-Type derailleur mounts directly to a UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) interface machined into the frame itself. That rigid connection eliminates the flex and alignment issues that plague traditional hangers, which means more consistent shifting and one less part that bends in a crash.
The GX Eagle AXS groupset brings this Transmission architecture to a more accessible price point than the XX and X0 versions above it. You get the same UDH mounting, the same AXS wireless shifting protocol, and the same 520% gear range from the 10-52T cassette. The derailleur uses SRAM's Orbit fluid damper to maintain chain tension over rough terrain, reducing chain slap without the maintenance requirements of a mechanical clutch.
AXS connectivity means wireless communication between the controller and derailleur, with no cables to route or housing to replace. The POD controller mounts to your handlebar and uses a single button for both upshifts and downshifts—press for one direction, hold for the other, or use SRAM's AXS app to customize the controls to your preference. The system runs on a rechargeable battery mounted to the derailleur, and SRAM rates it for roughly 60 hours of ride time depending on shifting frequency and conditions.... Read More
