Red eTap HRD Lever Hood Covers
Color: Black
Description
If the hoods on your original SRAM Red eTap HRD levers have gotten sticky, torn at the base, or started peeling back from years of sweat and UV, these are the factory replacements. The covers fit HRD (hydraulic road disc) brakes from the pre-AXS Red eTap generation — the first-generation wireless electronic group with hydraulic disc brake levers — and are sold in pairs so you can refresh both sides at once.
Hoods are the one contact point on the bike that takes constant abuse from every direction. Sweat drips down onto them, bar tape wrap pulls at the base, sunscreen and chain lube break down the rubber compound, and UV exposure hardens the material until it loses grip and starts to crack. Most riders notice the change gradually — one day the hoods feel tacky and secure, six months later your hands are sliding around on climbs and you can see a tear forming where the hood meets the lever body. A fresh set is one of the cheaper upgrades on the bike and one of the more noticeable.
These are the exact hood covers SRAM specs on the Red eTap HRD lever body, so the fit is precise — no stretching, trimming, or fighting with a hood designed for a different lever shape. The ergonomic profile matches the original contour of the lever, keeping the hand position and reach exactly where SRAM engineered it. Installation is straightforward with a bit of rubbing alcohol to help the hood slide over the lever body, though you'll want to unwrap the top few inches of bar tape to get access to the base....
