Description
Power meters on mountain bikes generate different data than their road counterparts. Trail conditions, technical features, and variable traction mean sustained power output rarely tells the complete story. The XX1 Eagle SL Powermeter Crankset captures this complexity through Quarq's strain gauge technology, measuring actual power delivery through the drivetrain rather than estimating from speed or heart rate. For cross-country racers and endurance riders who train with power, the data translates directly between trainer sessions and trail performance.
SRAM built this crankset around their hollow carbon construction, the same platform as the standard XX1 Eagle SL. The carbon layup creates a rigid structure without excess material, keeping rotating weight low where acceleration demands it most. DUB spindle interface works with SRAM's bottom bracket system across frame standards, so the same crankset fits BSA threaded shells, press-fit 92, and BB30 frames with the appropriate DUB bottom bracket.
Quarq's power measurement lives in the crank spider, positioning the strain gauges close to the chainring where pedaling forces concentrate. The system measures total power from both legs combined, transmitting data via ANT+ and Bluetooth to head units and training apps. Temperature compensation adjusts readings as conditions change, whether you're climbing in August heat or racing in early spring. Battery life runs approximately 400 hours on a replaceable CR2032 cell, accessible without tools.... Read More
