The ZTR Valor rims have been developed with what NoTubes is calling RiACT rim design. The acronym stands for Radial Impact Absorbing Technology. Despite the carbon rims being 30% stiffer laterally than their aluminum counterparts, RiACT employs a proprietary lay-up process that absorbs radial vibrations and impacts, allowing the rim to compress up to 7mm. Not only does this engineering protect the rim's integrity, when countered by the lateral stiffness, the rim provides more forward momentum, effectively reducing energy loss. Many companies have focused on rim and rider preservation, but here we have a design doesn't compromise performance to make it happen.
