Standard floor pumps waste half your effort. The upstroke does nothing but reset the piston for the next push, which means you're only moving air on the downstroke. Topeak's TwinTurbo technology puts both directions to work by running two barrels in sequence. Pull the handle up and the larger outer barrel draws in air while simultaneously compressing it into the smaller inner barrel. Push down and that pre-compressed air gets pushed into your tire at high pressure. The result is roughly 50% less time and effort to reach your target pressure.

The dual-barrel design delivers 858 cc of air per complete stroke cycle, which fills high-volume mountain bike tires quickly while still generating the pressure needed for road tires up to 200 psi. Most pumps force you to choose between volume and pressure, but the Twin Turbo handles both because the compression happens in stages rather than all at once.
