Most floor pumps only move air on the downstroke. The upstroke is dead time, just resetting the piston for the next push. Topeak's Joe Blow Twin Turbo solves that with a dual-barrel design that puts both directions to work. Pull the handle up and the outer barrel draws in air while pre-compressing it into the inner barrel. Push down and that pre-pressurized air gets driven into your tire. The practical result is roughly half the time and half the effort to hit your target pressure, which adds up fast when you're prepping multiple bikes before a ride.

The TwinTurbo system moves 858 cc per complete stroke cycle, which is enough volume to seat tubeless tires and inflate high-volume mountain bike rubber without burning out your shoulders.
