Meet the new ELEMNT ROAM, Wahoo’s most powerful and accurate GPS cycling computer packed with features that turn any ride into an adventure. ELEMNT ROAM delivers advanced accuracy and powerful on-device smart navigation features through dual-band GPS technology. A crystal clear 2.7” (6.9cm) 64 color display and a long lasting battery make it easier than ever to stay on course longer and explore further. While the new head unit features a new button design and increased ease of use, most buyers are looking at what is truly new to the ROAM V2. For many, the simplest and first is the move to a USB-C charging port. A fully Customizable Screen set-up allows for a page for every element of your ride: a workout view with a complete look at performance metrics, a climbing view to track ascents in real-time, a map view to stay on course, live tracking, and more. All screens are customizable from within the ELEMNT Companion App. Most other aspects of the new unit consist of uses that allow you to circulate within the Wahoo ecosystem with ease, with indoor and outdoor training, tracking, and sharing flexibility. This Bundle adds Wahoo HR, speed, and cadence sensors.

The next biggest upgrades in the 2nd generation of the ROAM revolve around training features and TrainerRoad, TrainingPeaks, and Today’s Plan are fully integrated with ROAM. You can see your training plan, execute structured workouts, and send data back to the apps automatically. Ride your workout plan outdoors or indoors. On a KICKR Smart Trainer, it will automatically change resistance to match the target power of each interval so you get the most out of your structured workout. The ROAM now carries five preloaded Structured Workouts for you to do indoors or outdoors with two FTP tests and three structured workouts. The new Custom Alerts feature allows you to configure your ROAM to display reminders and motivational messages based on either workout time, distance, or calories burned intervals through the Companion App. You can create virtual Points of Interest by setting distance-based reminders to alert you about key spots on your route. ROAM also uses Wahoo X to keep you ready for year-round adventures by allowing you to follow structured training plans on indoor and outdoor rides. Just load a workout or training plan into your SYSTM calendar and follow the targets set by the Wahoo Sports Science team to maximize efforts.

On the location and GPS front, confidence when exploring comes with knowing exactly where you are. ROAM’s Dual Band GPS provides this confidence by enhancing accuracy in challenging environments where signals can be obstructed by dense trees and urban noise. Being able to quickly and easily see your mapping and routes comes down to a crisp screen image. From color-coding tough climbs ahead to highlighting the efforts in your chosen structured workout, the screen imagery uses color intelligently to keep the user experience focused on the ride. Saving you ride or adding maps requires memory, and the ROAM has you covered. There is no such thing as too many adventures with ROAM’s expanded 32GB memory. With the ROAM V2 you have pre-loaded with maps of North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and South America. Maps for Russia, Asia, and Africa that can be downloaded over WiFi. On-device turn-by-turn navigation is here as well, as the unit will automatically generate turn-by-turn prompts for all routes and file types; including GPX files, TCX files and routes imported from Strava, Ride With GPS and Komoot. There are a substantial number of improvements and upgrades to the mapping features. Take Me To allows you to create a on-demand routes generated with turn-by-turn directions by selecting a location directly on the ROAM map page. In the App, enter a destination, address, or point of interest and to generate a route with turn-by-turn directions and sync it to the ROAM via Bluetooth. You can also retrace your route or set-up breadcrumbs by working directly from the ROAM or in the Companion App, selecting Retrace Route will provide turn-by-turn directions route you back to the starting point of your ride by reversing the route you just rode. You can also save your favorite locations so you can easily generate a route on the fly and get turn-by-turn directions to your frequently visited spots. Back on Track is an on-device navigation feature that will reroute you with turn-by-turn directions. ROAM will show blue chevrons directing you back to your planned route, and the chevrons will turn black when you are back on track. Route to Start is an on-device navigation feature that will find the shortest way back to the start of your ride and create turn-by-turn directions. Specifically for trail riders, you can automatically sync your To-Do List from MTB Project and your Wishlist from Singletracks to your ROAM over WiFi or Bluetooth.
