Description

Campagnolo introduces the second generation Power Torque+ system with its 11-speed Potenza Crankset. Working with a full-length drive axle from the driveside crank arm and spider, the new feature is the simple one-key release on the left arm. No more specialty tools, just a 14mm hex wrench to install and remove the left side crankarm. The system is simple and easy, with the overall extraction system permanently built into the crankarm. This solves the most challenging aspect of the original Power Torque crankset. Please keep in mind that the orginal Power Torque Bottom Bracket cup system remains the same and is designed for both generations.
Potenza carries the 11-speed pedigree from the top-end groupsets, and the components are cross compatible within the 11-speed family. What makes Potenza appealing to Campagnolo riders is the performance at a more cost-effective price. The mechanical precision and essential qualities you opt for with Campy, such as positive shift action, smooth and consistent operation, ergonomics, and pure functionality, match the higher-end groups. This is achieved with component materials and construction methods that cost less than the high-end carbon fiber, titanium, and ceramics found from Chorus to Super Record. The Potenza Crankset is stylishly designed and executed with a hollow forged aluminum that is both reasonably light and stiff enough to impress most cyclists. The proprietary 4- arm, offset spider, bolt placement, and alignment match Super Record, so chainrings and bolts are cross compatible.
The spider system negates the need for two crank spider system, resulting in the standard Potenza Crankset offering both standard double and compact chainring combinations so you can easily change your gearing up front if you choose. The spider arm design and bolt locations were developed to increase stiffness across the combination of rings and driveside arm for the same impressive overall efficiency and power transfer gains found in the higher end groups. At 771 grams with the 30-54 chainring combination, the Potenza Crankset perfectly suits the price and performance. With it's black on black finish scheme and sharp white graphics, one has to look closely to see that the crankset is not carbon, and when you ride it, you won't even need to think of such things. Just pedal and ride knowing you have Campagnolo 11-speed performance with without compromise.
