Enve's Carbon Road compact handlebars are the end result of extensive testing, work-shopping, and the engineering prowess the company is known for. The designers took considerable time and effort to understand various lever designs, potential rider hand placements, stiffness, and compliance. Today's compact road handlebars have been driven by the change in lever designs and the increased length of the shifter body. A tighter radius curve combined with these longer set-ups offers excellent hand positioning, and only riders with exceptionally large hands require a more traditional reach bar. The compact bar has a 79mm reach, which allows the rider to run a normal or 1cm longer stem to achieve the ideal bar and hand-placement relative to the saddle. To keep it simple, bars have changed to accommodate longer levers, which enables proper bike fit and weight distribution over the front wheel. In most cases, this makes for a better handling bike. Enve's radius also reflects the desire to actually use the curve when in the 127mm drops, and the need to safely access the brake lever.

Of course, this is Enve, so you get exceptional construction and attention to detail. The proprietary carbon molding system employs end to end unidirectional carbon fiber in a laminate system. The bar is engineered to be stiff, but deliver excellent vibration damping while being responsive to rider input. The shapes of the bar more closely resemble the palm of the hand- the only truly round section is in the clamping areas. Enve bars feature an Integrated Bar Plug System made from silicone that not only secures your tape, but further impedes vibration, especially when you are in the drops, but has a great feel on the hand and is soft to walls, cars, etc. Enve measures their bars from center to center at the hoods, and the compact road bar features a slight flare (adds 1cm each side) at the drops for smoother out of the saddle interaction. Integrated dual cable routing channels help keep the installation clean.
