The shell of the Xar is the standard In-Mold polycarbonate with EPS liner Giro is famous for, and it incorporates the nylon Roll Cage in the EPS liner. This adds serious strength and helps keep the helmet structure together if you impact. This is important, as even a damaged helmet can provide protection in a multi-impact incident. This shell is designed around 17 Wind Tunnel™ vents that allow massive airflow to keep the skull cool and create the signature profile of the Xar. For retention and fit, the redoubtable Roc-Loc® 5 handles the job with its micro-adjusting dial. The whole fit assembly can be vertically adjusted 15mm via a shell mounted tab. This allows the rider to accommodate the depth and shape of the skull for an optimum fit and proper angle. The visor offers the 15 degree POV angle adjustment and is stiff and strong enough to handle branches or small impacts, as well as save you from the sun.
