Description

If your bike shop was started a few decades ago, it is likely that every bench in place has a C-160 Ratcheting Hub-Crank Arm Wrench front and center. Why? Well, before the late 1990's pretty much every recreational childrens' or adult bike had bolt-on wheels. Quick release hubs took a few more years to spread broadly across the industry. Also, crank arms were fastened to square taper style bottom brackets with recessed standard 6-point head bolts.

Hozan's C-160 has two tool interfaces at each end of a steel cylinder with a central ratchet and handle design. The hardened steel too interfaces use 12 point design, one is for 14mm bolts, and the other for 15mm bolts. The cylinder is thin, to easily fit inside those recessed crank arms. There was a time when the C-160 was the most heavily used tool in the shop. It still gets used frequently today, and it remains one of the most efficient and effective tools for removing and fastening hub nuts and crank arm bolts. The reversible ratcheting button and two common tool sizes make the C-160 ultra efficient to use

The overall handle length is just over 10.5", and the weight is 330 grams. Hozan uses an ergonomic rubber handle that is comfortable in hand, even when exerting substantial force. The ratchet system is serviceable, though it is unlikely you will ever need to. If you have or work on older bikes, kid's bikes, track bikes, or simply love incredible tools, we highly recommend you pick-up a Hozan C-160 Ratcheting Hub-Crank Arm Wrench, though use caution, you may never want to put it down.
