Praxis chainring are uniquely forged for extended durability. This process involves a two-story, 1000 ton press to improve hardness and refine grain structure so the grain flow is in the areas of stress. By forging rings instead of machining them, Praxis creates a better shifting, longer lasting, and overall more superior chain ring than other brands. This Classic set is more open with cutouts where the outer ring in the "Clover" version is more solid.
The proprietary forging process allows Praxis to manipulate the ring shape and tooth profile more than ever before. With their "One-Shot" forging Praxis is able to increase the amount of shifting features on a chainring which normal CNC manufacturing won't allow. The process also creates a harder and tougher surface for durability. Individual tooth profiles, alternating tooth angles, timed ramps and tactically placed shift elevators are all jam packed onto a Praxis ring. All of these small aggregate features add up to the most durable and consistent shifting rings ever produced for cyclists.
LevaTime® shifting is the product of years of relentless testing and tweaking. The final result is a set of some of the finest and fastest-shifting rings available. With a LevaTime ring, several shift elevators are placed strategically at points on the ring to provide a perfectly timed lift. Synchronized ramps are tuned with a specific inner ring, providing a clean channel for the chain to move upwards. Each individual tooth is sculpted to handle a specific duty. Along with that, precisely located scallops help control chain movement and prevent chain suck. After riding these rings, you'll realize these aren't your average, ordinary chainrings. LevaTime takes shifting to the next level.
Includes an inner and outer chainring matched for optimal shifting. Select 53/39, 50/34 or the very popular 52/36. The 52/36 and 50/34 sets work with most 5-arm 110mm cranks except Campagnolo and 2012 SRAM Red. The 53/39 combo works on most 130mm 5-arm cranks. 9, 10 and 11speed compatible.
For optimal shifting, it is suggested to use a Shimano, KMC or Campy chain
