Castelli did a great job with the Classica jersey by blending contemporary fabrics and a slightly relaxed, but anatomic fit with simple and classic styling. What you get is a jersey that looks basic from the outset, but is a technical and well-fitting garment that is designed for top performance. As we expected, it has become an immediate staff and customer favorite.
The entire body of the Classica FZ is constructed from Castelli's Prosecco multidenier poly fabric. This fabric has a 3D structure with a very soft feel. In common speak, this means denier is a unit of linear mass of the density of fibers, so multidenier simply means several different densities of fibers. This multiple density construction creates a 3D structure that elevates the fabric off of the skin which greatly improves wicking and moisture management. Castelli carefully brushed and combed the end product to feel like crushed velvet against your skin.
The upper rear panel features special mesh venting for improved airflow and moisture wicking. On the lower section of the rear panel, three pockets are stitched on for plenty of storage. A small strip of silicon is added on the inside of the bottom hem to help keep the jersey in place. The hidden front zipper is a YKK Camlock, so you are guaranteed reliability and durability for many seasons. One small detail we love is the notched back collar. This allows the collar to sit perfectly on your neck without bunching up by allowing room for you neck to bend when in the cycling position. Simple and eloquent styling cues make the Classica perfectly suited for any ride, be it a long solo trek to a local weekend criterium.
