Vittoria Crono EVO CS Tubular Tire

The Crono EVO CS is Vittoria's superlight offering in a tubular time trail tire. It will also double as a track tire. At a scant 168 grams, it is our lightest tubular tire.

It features the same 320tpi Corespun cotton casing that wraps a latex tube as the standard Corsa series exept with one less ply. The Crono CS has only 2 plys in the casing for added weight savings. The casing itself is made from a poly-cotton blend that has Kevlar woven in to add durability. In thread form, Kevlar is soft and flexible, so while offering added protection, it will not adversely affect the handling. The huge thread count of these materials are tightly woven and end up giving the rider near perfect road feedback and a firm but resilient cornering feel. A very thin PRB puncture proofing belt is added to the top of the casing to help protect it from shards and road debris.

The Crono EVO CS tread is constructed from natural rubber that is enhanced with Silica and Kevlar SiO². These 'additives' greatly enhance the ride characteristics - the Silica reduces rolling resistance while the Kevlar increases wear time and durability. The tread is also thin to help reduce weight and rotating mass. The tread design is a dot matrix pattern that is so micro, you would almost think it is slick at first glance.

    I'm running these on HED Stinger 9, HED H3D Tri-spoke and HED Stinger Disc. The interchangeable valve solution is awesome. The tire is super supple and wears great. Great cornering adhesion and low rolling resistance. Very pleased with the performance.
