The Drako is Sidi's vision of the ultimate, no-holds barred mountain shoe. The Drako's upper is constructed of Sidi's proprietary Tecnomicro fabric with a brilliant Vernice finish. This synthetic upper is light, thin and conforms to the skin in a body-mapping kind of way that feels like a second skin. Beyond fit, it's also extremely breathable, stretch resistant and very durable. The upper is secured to your foot with Sidi's brilliant Techno 3 Wire buckle system.
The Wire offers up a modern way of micro adjustment through the simple turn of a dial. And while these draw comparison to the BOA closure system due to similar design features, there's nothing similar about them. There is no plastic used in the Wire buckle internals which provide and unmatched tactile action and leverage. The design is absolutely bomber, but in the event they need to be replaced, the entire buckle system can be removed and replaced in a matter of minutes. Two buckles, one located on the instep and the other at the forefoot allow you to vary the diameter and pressure you want on and around your foot. The HSS heel cup tension is adjustable with the turn of a screw to tighten of loosen the heel cup depending on preference.
For the sole of the shoe, Sidi managed to shave off 50 grams of weight per shoe, while maintaining the same stiffness. This carbon provides a slight amount of flex in the forefoot for a smoother, more natural running gait without compromising stiffness for power transfer to the pedals. As with all SRS (Sidi Replacement Sole) soles, the grippy tread is replaceable to add longevity by increasing the Drako's life span. Complete replacement is easy and only take a few minutes. Replacement soles are readily available and don't break the bank. Along the lines of shoe life, a replaceable cleat wear plate has been added to repair this high-wear area due to shoe-pedal interface.
that shoe is the best shoe in the world.
Pros: easy to open and close
Cons: most expensive.
OMG!! THEEEE best shoe i've ever placed my foot in. I have flat feet is the reason i went with the Sidi Drako. Completly adjustable down to the heel cup. Nice touch guys. Plus there are so many parts that can be replaced as they wear to keep the shoe new. Quality construction.......No issues!
Pros: Infinite adjustments
Cons: Little pricey, but once their on...aahh!
