The 7800 STI lever plates were made much better than the 7900 version. My 7900 lever plates corroded while the 7800 never did. So Shimano must have changed materials or coatings. Ive replaced 3 sets on 2 bikes so far. One set I got from Shimano after complaining about the poor quality.

Pros: Nice that these are available.

Cons: Terrible that they dont last like they used to.
